Senior Research Assistant

Laura Ramirez is a senior research assistant in the population-focused research area at Child Trends. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Florida International University, with a minor in statistics and a certificate in Women's and Gender Studies.

Laura’s experience includes supporting the National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families, where she facilitated project coordination, capacity-building activities, and strategic communications and dissemination efforts. Prior to her work at Child Trends, Laura contributed to research that examined health disparities within Latino communities and risk-taking behaviors among Latino youth residing in Latin America.

Laura's research interests center on strengths-based, culturally relevant, and community-informed research, examining how diverse populations—including Latino, Black, and Indigenous communities—interact with complex societal systems. She is particularly passionate about authentically and ethically amplifying community narratives to translate research into impactful social mobilization.
