In Nevada, a recent state law requires that all
caregivers who work in licensed early care and
education (ECE) settings, including family child care,
participate in The Nevada Registry, a statewide career
development and recognition system. When this
requirement is fully phased in by late 2012, state policymakers will
have a nonduplicated list of individuals in the ECE workforce as well
as valuable data about workforce as a whole. For more information,
